Combination Schools – $1000.00

Bovine AI/Palpation Upcoming Class Dates:

  • 2020 COURSE DATES:
    • AI Dates: TBA – Limited to 6 students each day.
    • Palpation Dates: TBA – Limited to 6 students each day.

AI and Palpation
ET and Palpation

For AI/Palpation Schools:

  • Registration begins at 5:00 PM Friday evening.
  • AI Class – Friday from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, and Saturday 8:15 AM to approximately 1:00 PM.
  • Palpation begins Saturday at appoximately 2:15 PM to 8:00 PM and continues Sunday at 9:00 AM to 11:45 AM.
  • ET/Palpation courses follow the same schedule, just substitute ET for AI.

AI Management Training – $550.00

* Payment is required in full for those attending the course to save your seat. Please make sure you can attend the course you are signing up for as the tuition for the course is non-refundable and seating is limited. Includes hands-on experience; appropriate clothing is required.

Three Main topics covered include:

  • Basis anatomy and physiology of bovine reproduction tract.
  • Semen handling, storage and use of the AI gun.
  • Synchronization and heat detection.

Schedule of events:

Session 1:

                        -Reproductive Physiology & Anatomy of Female Bovine
                        -Work with reproductive tracts (laying on a table) 
                        -Hands-On with live cows

Session 2:

                        -Synchronization Protocols
                        -Heat Detection
                        -Opportunity to buy A.I. supplies, nitrogen, semen, etc.
                         -Hands-On with live cows

Session 3:

                        -Storing & Handling of Semen
                        -Nitrogen Safety
                        -Hands-On with live cows

Palpation School – $550.00

Three Main topics covered include:

  • Basic anatomy and physiology of bovine reproduction tract and the progressive stages of pregnancy.
  • Factors that affect conception rates and what can be done to increase pregnancy rates.
  • Systematic process in determining pregnancy in cattle and fetus age.

Schedule of events:

Session 1:

                        -Basic Anatomy & Stages of pregnancy
                        -Hands-On with live cows (each student will have 9 different cows from 3-8months bred & some open)

Session 2:

                        -Herd health (opportunity to talk with our veterinarian)
                        -Hands-On with live cows (each student will have 9 different cows from 3-8months bred & some open)

Session 3:

                         -Factors that affect conception rates
                         -Hands-On with live cows (each student will have 9 different cows from 3-8months bred & some open)

Cattle Ultrasound Course – $600.00

This class will cover basic ultrasound principles & techniques for cattle. The class consists of lecture & lab with ample time to practice your skills.  The class will focus on ovaries & determining 60 to 90 day pregnancies from open. Determining the sex of the fetus will also be taught as the day goes along. We recommend you bring your own ultrasound, but we will have ultrasounds available to share if you don’t bring one. Small Ruminant Transcervical AI Training Course (Goats, Sheep, Deer) – $450

    ET Management Training – $600.00

    •

      • Learning how to transfer embryos is a more advanced technique. We highly suggest the student to have previous experience with artificial insemination before taking this training course.
      • Students can expect to learn anatomy and physiology, hormone secretion and synchronization of recipients, palpation of ovaries to detect Corpus Luteum, administering epidurals, thawing of embryos, loading ET gun and required equipment, insertion of the embryo into uterine horn, and associated paperwork.

    • Introduction to pregnancy determination via transabdominal ultrasound
    • Introduction to fetal aging

    This class is one day in length: Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

    Payment Policy

    *10% OFF FOR ACTIVE VET STUDENTS. (Small Ruminant Courses ONLY)

    *10% OFF IF ALL SMALL RUMINANT COURSES ARE TAKEN IN ONE WEEK. (Transcervical AI, Semen Collection, LAP AI, Flush- March 19th-22nd, 2020)

    *If LAP AI & Flush are only taken together they are discounted to $1500 total.

    *Only DVM or current DVM students can attend LAP AI and Flush Courses.

    Payment is required in full to save your seat. Please make sure you can attend the course you are sign up for and send payment promptly. Seats are saved in order in which full payment is received. Includes hands-on experience; appropriate clothing is required.

    Cancellation Policy
    Cancellation requests received up to 30 days before the event will be refunded in full, less a $100 processing fee. Cancellation requests received up to 15 days before the event will be refunded 50% of the registration fee, less a $100 processing fee. No refunds will be given for cancellation requests received within 14 days of the event, including no-shows. All refunds will be processed within 10 business days of confirmation and in the same manner as original payment. Registrations can be transfered to another event if request is made up to 15 days before the event. The reschedule must occur within six months of the original school date. We do, however, give you the option of sending someone in your place.
